Our Board of Directors are club members that have volunteered to take a serious step into leadership roles. We have the responsibility of guiding the club\u2019s business in matters of instruction classes along with non-profit (501-C-3) financial accountability. It has been a great experience working with the club to provide our community with options for training their dogs. I have been a member of the club for 10 years. At some point along the way, I have also been the Vice President and a Board Member of the club. Our family joined so that we could train our dogs in basic obedience and introduce them to becoming Therapy Dogs. We have enjoyed spending activity time with other members who love their dogs and like being with others who feel the same. We have had 8 German Shepherds over the years. Our last two, Dakota and Cheyenne, spent lots of time at Reid Hospital and Westview Elementary School on therapy visits. Our club members and their dogs enjoy participating in area parades! I have been able to meet so many great dogs and their fantastic handlers! Our club serves as a community resource for the dog lovers in Richmond and surrounding areas. We provide a positive reinforcement training experience for dogs and their handlers. I have been around dogs my entire life, and I see the value in taking quality training classes.
