My board service has been very rewarding and educational. Our Board of Directors are club members that have volunteered to take a serious step into leadership roles. We have the responsibility of guiding the club\u2019s business in matters of instruction classes along with non-profit (501-C-3) financial accountability. We are all passionate owners & handlers of our personal dogs, and we invite all class attendees to join our club to continue their training journey.\ud83d\udc3e\ud83d\udc3e<\/p>\n

I have been a member of the Whitewater Valley Dog Training club since 2010 and a board member for the past 8 years. It has been a great experience working with the club to provide our community with options for training their dogs. I just retired my Standard Poodle (Bailey) after 9 years of service.\ud83d\udc3e\ud83d\udc3e<\/p>\n

I\u2019m Susy Hasecoster, and I\u2019m the Treasurer of the Whitewater Valley Dog Training Club. I have been a member of the club for 10 years. At some point along the way, I have also been the Vice President and a Board Member of the club. Our family joined so that we could train our dogs in basic obedience and introduce them to becoming Therapy Dogs. We have enjoyed spending activity time with other members who love their dogs and like being with others who feel the same. We have had 8 German Shepherds over the years. Our last two, Dakota and Cheyenne, spent lots of time at Reid Hospital and Westview Elementary School on therapy visits. Our new friends, Corona and Alabama, are just beginning to train for those activites and also enjoy scent work.\ud83d\udc3e\ud83d\udc3e<\/p>\n

Being a board member for Whitewater Valley Dog Training Club has been an awesome experience for me. Our club members and their dogs enjoy participating in area parades! I have been able to meet so many great dogs and their fantastic handlers! Our club serves as a community resource for the dog lovers in Richmond and surrounding areas. We provide a positive reinforcement training experience for dogs and their handlers. I think the best part is seeing the handlers we have taught in class out in the \u201creal world\u201d having a great time with their dogs!\ud83d\udc3e\ud83d\udc3e<\/p>\n

My name is Carol Sims. I recently joined the club and I am excited to serve on the Board of Directors as their Secretary. My husband and I have two golden retrievers, Marley & Journee. Both are active therapy dogs. I have been around dogs my entire life, and I see the value in taking quality training classes.
