Admittedly, I have used this excuse in past Obedience training when my dog refused to follow my commands. Thank goodness my dog is a forgiving breed! I believe this article points out the importance of establishing a bond with our pets. Positive reinforcement is the right tool to use to build trust &amp; reliability if we expect our dogs to understand &amp; perform their best.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whole-dog-journal.com\/training\/the-stubborn-dog\/\">I cringe whenever I hear someone refer to a dog as \u201cstubborn.\u201d It is patently unfair to label a dog as stubborn. Dogs do what works for them (as we all do), and when they aren\u2019t doing what we ask, they have a good reason.
